As a 撸奶社区resident of less than one year, I often have the pleasure of learning something I didn't already know about my new home.

It is fairly apparent CN just doesn't get it. As many of us rubbed the sleep from our eyes Thursday morning, we learned that the rail company put another eight rail cars off the tracks in the Sunset Beach area just north of Horseshoe Bay.

Things started falling apart about halfway through our annual Labour Day scramble up the North Gully of the Chief.

I've recently been meditating on the sorry state of all forms of transportation within the Sea to Sky corridor. The highway is a bit frustrating, what with closures and, of course, unsafe, overly-speedy and impatient drivers all over the place.

As the municipal election approaches, 撸奶社区New Directions (SND) report that they have triggered more business activity than a hummingbird on caffeine and "exciting times" lie ahead. Downtown the mood is considerably more subdued.

You likely noticed something new last week on this page and astute readers will see there's another surprise on the opinion page today. We introduced you to Helmut Manzl's new column called Quantum Shift.

I hope that the irony isn't lost on anyone: The Liberal government, by making teachers an essential service and legislating an end to negotiations, has managed to force a crisis that has kept schools closed for at least nine days.
