Until recently federal politics have been foreign to me. Reading a headline was like stepping into a movie that has been playing forever.

With a single news release from 撸奶社区New Directions (SND), we officially entered silly season this week. Ian Sutherland, Dave Fenn, Sonja Lebans, Ray Peters and Jeff Dawson all announced on the same day that they will run in the next election.

We live in a fantastic place. Here, we have access to all manner of recreational opportunities, from hiking and kayaking to mountain biking and climbing - and everything in between. We work, live and play on the cusp of nature and civilization.

I don't know about the rest of Squamish, but I came away from the Petzl Roc Trip climbing extravaganza feeling a bit, well, used.

We live in paradise. A veritable backcountry smorgasbord offering practically each and every outdoor activity known to man within spitting distance of our downtown. As such there are countless good times to be had.

An intense debate taking place in Ottawa in recent months is now one of the lead political stories across the country and, quite frankly, it is about time.
