It doesn’t take a Nobel Prize-winning economist to grasp the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on the tourism industry—but just how bad is it, and how can the sector get back on its feet?

That’s the question the Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC) is trying to answer with a new survey launched in conjunction with community tourism marketing organizations, the BC Hotel Association and the province’s tourism ministry.

The survey is aimed at tourism-related businesses to gain “an accurate understanding of the effects of COVID-19” and assist in recovery.

Taking about 10 minutes to complete, the survey is anonymous and any personal information collected will be kept confidential, TIABC said in an email bulletin Monday, Feb. 22.

The survey can be found .
