ALL-CANDIDATES FORUMS

*The ߣÄÌÉçÇø, in partnership with the ߣÄÌÉçÇøChamber of Commerce, Tourism ߣÄÌÉçÇøand the ߣÄÌÉçÇøArts Council is hosting an All-Candidates Meeting at Brennan Park Rec Centre gym on Oct. 1.

When: Monday, Oct. 1

Time: 6 to 9 p.m. (time may change)

Where: Brennan Park Recreation Centre Gymnasium

Cost: Free and open to the public

*SquamishCAN, the ߣÄÌÉçÇøEnvironment Society, and My Sea to Sky are hosting an environment-based ߣÄÌÉçÇøAll-Candidates Forum on Sept. 24.

When: Monday, Sept. 24

Time: 6: 30 to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Howe Sound Secondary School Gymnasium

Cost: Free and open to the public

*The ߣÄÌÉçÇøOff-Road Cycling Association is hosting its All-Candidates Forum on Sept. 26.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 26

Time: 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Sea to Sky Hotel: 40330 Tantalus Way

Cost: Free and open to the public

In total, ߣÄÌÉçÇøwill elect one mayor, six councillors, and two school trustees.

Voting will take place in municipalities across the province on Saturday, Oct. 20. In Squamish, eligible voters can place their ballot at Brennan Park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Special election polls will be set up at Hilltop House and Shannon Falls Retirement Residence on voting day for employees, patients and residents.

Ìý

The District uses the provincial voters list for the local election, but new voters who meet the criteria can register on the Elections BC website at .

If you forget to register, you can still vote, but will be required to show two pieces of identification or sign a solemn declaration confirming your residence.

Voters are required to be Canadian citizens, age 18 or older, who have lived in B.C. for six months and have lived in ߣÄÌÉçÇøor owned local property for at least 30 days before registering.
