's Community Partnership Program is the company's cornerstone community investment initiative, providing funding in the spring and fall of each year to local non-profits from the District of Squamish, Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, 撸奶社区Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
Applications for the fall intake closed on Oct. 11 and are currently under review. Over the past two years, the program has provided nearly $600,000 in funding for over 125 different community initiatives. Funding has gone to non-profits in a range of sectors, including community services, sports and recreation, health and wellness, arts and culture, employment and training, as well as search and rescue.
Funding has helped local healthcare initiatives, such as the and . The Hospital Auxiliary was able to purchase new for 撸奶社区General Hospital, providing much improved prenatal care and a valuable tool to use during labour and delivery. were purchased with funding provided to the Hospital Foundation, offering improved training to simulate pediatric patients for healthcare workers.
Contributions from Woodfibre LNG have supported improvements in emergency response and preparedness in the Sea to Sky region. increased Pemberton Fire Rescue’s capacity for response in a variety of terrain and scenarios, creating safer outcomes for responders and the community. Funding for has improved that organization’s ability to aid backcountry enthusiasts in distress through improved medical equipment and upgrades to their emergency vehicles.
The company has also been pleased to support community groups like the and , whose activities form the fabric of the community – whether providing hand stitched quilts or a welcoming gathering place for veterans at the .
