Evelyn Schellenberg
As the daughter of Dr. Ken Schellenberg, one of Squamish’s first doctors, has deep roots in the local community. She has translated her extensive local knowledge and 25 years of marketing expertise into a career as a realtor for RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate. With that, she was BORN to sell Squamish.
Outside of her real estate profession, Schellenberg is a trailblazer for making opportunities in sport accessible to local girls and women as the founder and owner of the . The academy is a non-judgemental, welcoming, and supportive environment for girls and women of all experience levels who want to learn the sport of hockey, improve on their skills, and play in a safe and fun space.
Schellenberg hopes to empower women to step out of their comfort zone and gain the confidence to jump on the ice. In fact, many of the local women who have joined the academy started with never having worn skates before and are now competing in games against other Lower Mainland teams.
Having faced initial pushback against the notion of establishing the hockey academy in Squamish, Schellenberg was determined to make the program happen. This year marks six years since the start of the 撸奶社区Women’s Hockey Academy, which continues to see growing interest and demand. Building off of the success of the 撸奶社区chapter, Schellenerg will soon be launching a women’s hockey academy in Whistler, which has already sold out within 48 hours.

Atwell Dental Centre
As a curious child, Dr. Nancy Clayton was fascinated with how the human body functioned. She devoured the myriad of medical books and health and wellness magazines that her mother, who would help heal her children from their various childhood bumps, scrapes, and illnesses, had stored around the house.
Her passion for dentistry also began in her childhood after she underwent extensive dental surgery and orthodontics to fix her teeth. “I am so grateful to my own family dentist and orthodontist who not only restored my broken smile but sensed my interest in dentistry from a young age and encouraged me to pursue dentistry,” recalls Dr. Clayton.
She decided to pursue sciences and a career in dentistry at a time when women were not yet fully supported in these programs. With the support and encouragement of her mentors, Dr. Clayton graduated with honours from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, and later completed advanced surgical training through the Dental Residency Program at VGH.
Today, Dr. Nancy Clayton leads her team at , her clinic in 撸奶社区that offers dentistry for the whole family. She is incredibly fortunate to be able to help patients achieve healthy, beautiful, and confident smiles, and hopes to encourage kids and teens who are curious about the field of dentistry to pursue their passions.
“When I see young people at my office who are curious and intrigued by what we are doing,” says Dr. Clayton. “I encourage them to ask questions and share as much knowledge as possible to hopefully inspire the next generation of dentists.”
