All this attention to the homeless these days certainly can make you feel good somewhat ["Homeless shelter goes ahead," The Chief, April 10]. I cannot help but wonder, when someone raises the issue regarding who is donating or doing what to fund the shelter. How many homeless participate in the walk for the homeless? Doesn't everyone give in one way or another?
Even if it's just property taxes or going to work every day, for most people that go to work week in week out, paying income tax and all the consumer taxes to contribute to E.I., disability, welfare etc., of which many people that use the shelter benefit. How and who has concluded the location is in everyone's best interests?
Is it because the library is there? Please tell me. Is it my lot in life to swallow the face of apathy from now on? It must be nice to have an acre in the Highlands so you can only see trees and lawn from your house. Maybe the Highlands would be more suitable.
I know if you shared our view you would button your pie-hole.
