Samapalooza fundraiser rocks tomorrow

The second annual Samapalooza is tomorrow evening (March 28) from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Totem Hall. Musicians will be coming from many B.C.

The second annual Samapalooza is tomorrow evening (March 28) from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Totem Hall. Musicians will be coming from many B.C. locations in an effort to raise funds for the Sustainability through Agriculture and Micro-enterprises (SAM) Project. The event is also a memorial to young Sam Eves who lost his life tragically in March 2007. Tickets are available at the Adventure Centre and Billie's Bouquet at $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

The annual fundraiser Daffodil Days takes place at Wal-Mart starting today (March 27) and also on Saturday and Sunday (March 28 and 29) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please support the Canadian Cancer Society and Give the Gift of Hope by making a donation and in return, receiving a bunch of spring daffodils.

Liberal Party Leader Michael Ignatieff will be in 撸奶社区tonight (March 27) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sea to Sky Hotel Ballroom. Our former mayor, Ian Sutherland, will be the Liberal candidate in our riding in the next federal election and he will also be in attendance.

Between Shifts Theatre's presentation of Take Another 5 - An Evening of One Act Plays is on stage at the Eagle Eye Theatre tonight and Saturday (March 27 and 28) and next weekend, April 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. Pick your tickets up at the Adventure Centre and Billie's Bouquet at $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. The performances are suitable for those 12 years and older.

The 撸奶社区Valley Quilters present Marge Marlow and her "Quilting Journey" show, featuring bed quilts, wall quilts and art quilts. Many will remember Marg when she owned her fabric store "Needles and Pins." This evening will be held at the Howe Sound Inn and Brewing Company on Wednesday (April 1) at 7 p.m. The $5 cost of admission will go to the Community Quilts. Everyone is welcome.

Members of the Over the Hill Hikers will meet at the Yellow Gate for a Brohm Lake Loop outing on Tuesday (March 31) at 10 a.m. For information regarding the walks, please call Heather at 604-892-9003.

The 撸奶社区Food Bank will distribute grocery hampers on Wednesday (April 1) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alano Club on Third Avenue.

It should be a lively evening at the Brackendale Art Gallery on Thursday (April 2) at 7 p.m. when well known environmental activist, writer and grandmother Betty Krawczyk will present her fourth book. Open Living Confidential. Admission by donation.

撸奶社区Seniors Branch #70 has a Pitt Lake Boat Tour planned for Saturday, May 16. Elaine needs to know four weeks in advance before the trip can be booked. The cut-off date is Friday, April 17. If interested, please call Elaine at 604-898-5463.

A Town Hall Meeting with MP John Weston will be held at the Tantalus Seniors' Centre at 1471 Pemberton on Thursday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. when he will discuss issues pertaining to seniors.

An afternoon with Ivan Sayers and his fabulous Easter Parade of Fashions will be held at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park on Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. Enjoy hats and finery on site in the 1914 built car shop. Take your friends for an evening of Bingo at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #277 on Monday (March 30). The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 6:30 p.m.
