According to the there were five positive coronavirus cases in the Howe Sound region between May 15 and 21.
Data for new infections has been widely dismissed since December when Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry started telling British Columbians who were vaccinated and had mild symptoms not to get tested and simply self-isolate.
At the time, Henry said this was to increase testing capacity for those with more severe symptoms and those who are more vulnerable.
93% of all residents over five years old have had their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in the Howe Sound region, which stretches from Lions Bay's northern border to Lillooet.
Of children five to 11 years old, 46% have had their second shot as of May 23.
Of adults (18+), 97% have had their second shot.
However, only 57% of those eligible over 18 have had their third vaccine or booster.
