Marie Grindlay is a landscaper in Squamish, but she also has a compassionate heart. Through World Vision, she has been supporting a child in South Africa and she now wants to go as a volunteer to plant fruit trees and amend nutrients into the soil that will help a community to sustain themselves. Over 29,000 children die every day of malnourishment, poverty and AidS/HIV. Marie is hoping to raise $5,500 for this trip and she is holding a fundraiser tomorrow night (March 14) at 7 p.m. at the Burrow on Tantalus Road in Garibaldi Estates. Admission is by donation at the door and the evening will include a silent auction, raffle and entertainment. An income tax receipt will be issued for donations over $50.
