Crescent Point Energy Corp. (TSX:CPG). Energy. Down 39 cents, or 3.63 per cent, to $10.36 on 6.1 million shares. 

Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE). Energy. Down 15 cents, or 0.55 per cent, to $27.20 on 5.5 million shares. 

Air Canada (TSX:AC). Transportation. Up 62 cents, or 3.21 per cent, to $19.91 on 4.7 million shares. 

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Energy. Up 18 cents, or 0.34 per cent, to $53.13 on 4.7 million shares. 

Shopify Inc. (TSX:SHOP). Technology. Up 33 cents, or 0.71 per cent, to $46.55 on 4.6 million shares. 

Companies in the news:

Imperial Oil Ltd. (TSX:IMO). Up $6.16, or 9.13 per cent, to $73.63. Imperial Oil Ltd. announced Friday that it is raising its quarterly dividend by nearly 30 per cent and also plans to buy back up to $1.5 billion worth of shares. The Calgary-based company reported its third-quarter profit more than doubled compared with a year ago, totalling $2.03 billion or $3.24 per diluted share for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from $908 million or $1.29 per diluted share in the same quarter a year earlier.

Air Canada — Air Canada reported a net loss of $508 million in its third quarter compared with a loss of $640 million in the same quarter last year as it ramped up operations and more than doubled its revenue. The airline says the loss amounted to $1.42 per diluted share for the quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with a loss of $1.79 per diluted share a year earlier. However, Air Canada chief executive Michael Rousseau says the airline's operating income for the quarter was positive for the first time since the pandemic began.

Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS). Up 84 cents, or 1.61 per cent, to $52.97. Fortis Inc. reported its third-quarter profit rose compared with a year ago as its revenue also grew. The power utility said its net income attributable to common shareholders totalled $326 million or 68 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with a profit of $295 million or 62 cents per diluted share a year earlier. Revenue totalled $2.55 billion, up from nearly $2.2 billion in the third quarter of 2021.
