A local swimmer has won gold in a relay race at the Masters Swimming Association of British Columbia (MSABC) Provincial Championships.
Squamish’s Katie Coombs emailed The 撸奶社区 saying her swim team Coast won gold in the four-person, 200-metre relay at the championships held in Surrey between April 19 and 21.
Additionally, they set a new B.C. record in their category.
“This is something I never ever thought would happen! I’m so over the moon proud of myself and my team!” she wrote in the email.
Her teammates in the relay included Robin Freedman, Sarah Pedley and Victoria Wallace.
Coombs said she is getting ready to compete in the national competition, this year in Windsor, Ont. happening later in May.
Coombs said she also got a personal best in the 50-metre backstroke at the provincial competition.
