The wildfire near Fawn Lake and Cheekye River in 撸奶社区is out.
Kimberly Kelly, a community engagement specialist for the Coastal Fire Centre, said the B.C. Wildfire Service is only monitoring it from an enforcement standpoint as it was a leftover from an industrial burn in the region.
The fire itself is no longer listed on the B.C. Wildfire Service map. Kelly said the centre would follow up to ensure that regulations for burns in the area are being followed.
The fire was first discovered on May 29.
As for the wildfire in the 撸奶社区Valley, referred to as the Shovelnose Creek fire, Kelly said a team continues to monitor it, though it has been deemed under control. Its peak size was 38 hectares.
It is suspected to be human-caused.
Elsewhere in the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, the Newcastle Creek fire on Vancouver Island is considered out of control and is currently around 160 hectares in size.
