Were you stuck on the Sea to Sky Highway on May 24? If so, here’s why.
撸奶社区RCMP say that just after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a crash in the northbound lanes at Furry Creek, involving a tractor-trailer dump truck.
The truck had gone off the highway and into a ditch, landing on its side, sent out Thursday.
Passersby stopped to help get the driver out of the vehicle's cab as first responders arrived.
Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance, Miller Capilano, and a local tow company also responded.
The response required Highway 99 northbound to be fully closed for about 30 minutes.
BC Ambulance took the driver to hospital with unknown injuries, and she has since been released.
“Investigators continue following up with this matter,” says Cpl. Angela Kermer, of the Sea to Sky RCMP in the release.
“Further investigation will help determine what happened. We’re thankful to passers-by who assisted and are relieved the driver’s injuries were not substantial.”
