Squamish's 'NASA' Jim celebrates SpaceX Crew 8 rocket launch

‘NASA’ Jim Meyer was at Cape Canaveral to snap some shots of the latest ISS mission on March 3.

You can take the man out of NASA, but you can’t take NASA out of the man.

Squamish’s ‘NASA’ Jim Meyer was back in his element on Sunday while witnessing the SpaceX in Cape Canaveral on Sunday.

“What an amazing day,” wrote Meyer to The ߣÄÌÉçÇø.

Meyer was an engineer with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for almost four decades before retiring.

While he was down south during the SpaceX rocket launch, he’s been living part-time in ߣÄÌÉçÇøfor over 20 years.

The goal of the Crew-8 mission is to deliver three U.S. astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut to the International Space Station.

Once there, they’ll begin a six-month research endeavour while spiralling above Earth.
