A snowfall warning is in effect between 撸奶社区and Whistler starting Wednesday.
The heavy snowfall will result in slippery roads that could make driving dangerous, according to the .
Snowfall accumulations between 10 to 20 cm are anticipated.
According to the alert, this will occur between late Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon.
"A cold front crossing the B.C. South Coast will produce heavy snow over the Sea to Sky Highway. Periods of snow will start Wednesday afternoon, then intensify late in the evening, before tapering off to a few flurries Thursday afternoon," the alert reads.
As local drivers know, a lot of snow in a short period of time can make driving more hazardous.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times during the storm.
A reminder that it is the law to have winter tires on your vehicle while driving the Sea to Sky Highway.
