A new non-profit in 撸奶社区aims to team up businesses in the outdoor industry to develop a network across the Sea to Sky Corridor.
The new organization is named Sea to Sky Outdoor Adventure Recreation Enterprise or SOARE for short. Development manager, JoJo Das, called it the first “formalized” network of these types of businesses in the region.
“This non-profit is a physical and virtual space that will make it easier for businesses to meet,” wrote Das in an email to The 撸奶社区. “To share the skills, resources, and relationships that will push them even further, and cement our reputation as world leaders in the outdoor industry.”
Businesses among the repertoire in the region could include adventure-based media, gear and apparel design, or manufacturing.
“SOARE aims to demonstrate this hub's economic value to both BC and the Canadian economy. We will work with our members, partners and government to enable a connected and vibrant outdoor industry right here in the Sea to Sky,” said Das.
A launch party is scheduled for Oct. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1002 Industrial Way, also known as SOARE’s basecamp.
“At the launch party, you can learn more about what SOARE does, what we plan on doing, and how you can take part and benefit from this member-driven non-profit,” reads the event page. “We will have spaces for you to add in your thoughts, ideas, questions, and recommendations, so that your input can be incorporated from the get-go.”
