Here are the police incidents released to the media by the 撸奶社区RCMP for the week of May 30 to June 5.
Sea to Sky Highway collisions
撸奶社区police say they investigated three collisions on Highway 99 throughout the past week, according to a release.
One accident involved a driver hitting the concrete divider in the centre of the highway near Porteau Cove, which damaged the car to the point it was no longer driveable. Neither the driver nor the passenger were injured.
A second accident involved a van and semi-truck colliding near Alice Lake. A total of nine people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Lastly, near the Big Orange Bridge, a northbound vehicle struck the centre median and ended up in the southbound lanes before coming to a stop. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital.
Break-and-enter to a local business
On May 28, a man used a screwdriver to wedge open a lock at a business on Queens Way. When the alarm went off, the man was scared away and, thus, did not take anything from the business.
Police said they are still following up on the matter.
Mischief to rainbow crosswalk in Downtown Squamish
On June 1, police said they investigated damage left by a burnout to the rainbow crosswalk located in Downtown Squamish, but do not have a timeline associated with the damage.
The police said because they could not identify the driver, they have since concluded the file.
In 2021, similar mischief took place on the same rainbow crosswalk.
