Here are the 撸奶社区police incidents released to the media for the week of May 9 to 15.

Impaired driving

On Mother's Day, just before 11 p.m., a member on patrol watching for impaired drivers saw a woman park her car and stagger into and out of a liquor store.

The RCMP member had the driver complete breath tests, which she failed.

The officer issued the woman a 90-day driving prohibition and impounded her car for 30 days. The officer then ensured that the driver and her dogs were in the safe care of a responsible adult.

Candy theft leads to car impounded

On May 12, 2023, just after midnight, police received a report of two men suspected of stealing some candy from a local store. They were then seen rifling through a car that had a broken window before driving away.

Officers tracked down the vehicle, which was seen weaving in and out of its lane.

The RCMP had the driver provide a breath sample that showed he had no liquor in his system; however, the driver did poorly on field sobriety tests.

As a result, police issued the driver a driving prohibition and impounded his car. The police are continuing to investigate this situation.

Arrested for driving

On May 10, 2023, at about 9:15 a.m., a member was on patrol when she saw a driver she believed was banned from driving. The officer stopped the driver and confirmed the prohibition before arresting the man. The officer released the driver at the scene with a future court date. The man also had his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Car fire

A car was on fire in the 40600 block of Government Road on May 12 at about 3 p.m.

撸奶社区Fire Rescue put out the fire. The car had no internal components and was merely a shell that belonged to a business that had been closed for some time, police said.

There was no further evidence that this situation put public safety at any risk, and the file has since been closed.
