If you can, it is likely best to stay clear of the Sea to Sky Highway stretch through Whistler tonight, and if you are in the traffic snarl, it could be a while before you are clear.
According to a DriveBC post, fire crews are reporting multiple incidents through the portion of Highway 99 as of 7:34 p.m.
"Expect major delays in both directions," the post says.
"Please give plow trucks room to work. They are having difficulty plowing and laying material due to heavy traffic."
Commenters have reported on the Sea to Sky Road Conditions Facebook page that the highway through Whistler is "chaos," and note it is icy.
