Vancouver author Timothy Taylor who wrote the book Stanley Park will be in attendance at the 撸奶社区Public Library's evening book club on Thursday (Dec. 3) from 8 to 9 p.m. Anyone who has read this book is welcome to join in the discussion and chat with the author.
There's no need to go out of town to shop during this busy season as there is much to be offered right in our own community starting with St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 2449 The Boulevard, which is holding its annual Christmas Bazaar and luncheon tomorrow (Nov. 28) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participate in the silent auction and raffles, check the tables filled with handmade items including knitted goods, look over the crafts and be sure to pick out a treat or two at the bake tables.
The 撸奶社区Manor on Third Avenue and Pemberton is holding a Seniors Christmas Bazaar tomorrow (Nov. 28) from 1 to 3 p.m. when a variety of crafts, knitted socks, slippers and more will be on display. A bake table is also planned and coffee, tea and refreshments will be available.

The 撸奶社区Needy Animal Foundation (SNAF) is holding a paper crafting for pets (scrap booking) day on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Howe Sound Inn and Brewing Company. The fundraiser crop and Christmas card class runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The full day is $50 and half day, $30. For just the Christmas card class from 3 to 4:30 p.m. the price is $20. Registration for the winter sessions of Keep Well Seniors Exercise classes begins on Tuesday (Dec. 1) at either the 撸奶社区Seniors Centre or the Brennan Park Recreation Centre. Level I classes will run each Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, Level II each Monday and Wednesday for either the 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. time or the 11 a.m. to noon classes. For those seniors wishing more challenging exercises (without the chairs) the days are Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. All classes will be held in the 撸奶社区Seniors Centre.
The Keep Well exercise programs are so well attended and much of that credit goes to our super leader Sacha Molby and to her able assistants Margaret Taylor and Mary June Wyndham. When Mary June was unable to attend, Bev Richards helped out.
The ever-popular Carol's Carols will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the 撸奶社区United Church at Fourth and Victoria. Participants to date include the church choir, the Thompson family, Rita Kyle, Carolyn Grass, Louise Martin and of course Carol Grolman. The Howe Sound Women's Centre has produced its first annual draw calendar. The calendars are $25 each but there are 24 draws throughout 2010 and you may have a chance to win up to $1000.
