Quest welcomes new board member

Quest University has a new number wiz at its table.

Last week, the Squamish-based institution announced officials appointed Karen Keilty to the university鈥檚 board. The appointment expands the board鈥檚 numbers to eight members who oversee all aspects of the facility鈥檚 operation.聽

鈥淲e are delighted to add Karen鈥檚 business acumen and wealth of experience in not-for-profit governance to our board,鈥 Quest鈥檚 president David Helfand stated in a press release.聽

Keilty brings more than 30 years of experience in audit and advisory services. She is an accomplished auditor with experience in conducting large, complex audit engagements, Quest鈥檚 press release stated. Keilty spent 30 years at Deloitte, including 20 years as a partner. Keilty recently served as leader and director of operations of professional services firm鈥檚 audit practice in British Columbia. Keilty was responsible for the organizational leadership and management of a team of 200 professionals delivering audit and advisory services to many private and public sector clients throughout the province, the release noted.

Keilty said she looks forward to working with the board to assure Quest鈥檚 future success.聽

鈥淚 have been impressed with what Quest has achieved to date by focusing on its core values and finding ways to innovate,鈥 she stated.聽

Keilty serves as a commissioner for the B.C. Utilities Commission and as a corporate director. She is a past president and a counsel member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, a past Director of the B.C. Paraplegic Foundation, past chair of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum, past board founding member of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs, past director of the B.C. Chamber of Commerce, and a past chair of Women鈥檚 Addiction.
