撸奶社区residents are being invited to the screening of a film that explores the value of real-world experiences in an increasingly digital age.
The showing of Play Again, presented by Cedar Valley Waldorf School, is planned next Thursday (Sept. 26) at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagle Eye Theatre.
The film explores the question: What are the consequences of a childhood removed from nature? The documentary follows six teenagers who, like the "average" American youngster, spend five to 15 hours per day looking at screens. The filmmakers unplug the six and takes them on their first wilderness adventure - no electricity, no cellphone coverage, no virtual reality.
Through the voices of children and leading experts like Richard Louv, Juliet Schor, Bill McKibben, Gary Small and David Suzuki, Play Again introduces new perspectives and encourages action for a sustainable future.
Admission is a suggested $10 donation and can be purchased at the door or in advance at Cedar Valley Waldorf School, 38265 Westway Ave. It will be followed by a moderated conversation.
