Ronald James Elliott.

And so it was time to join his beloved wife Marie and son Jeff.

Ronald James Elliott passed away at home on Aug. 10, 2023, at the age of 87.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his children James, Judith (Dirk), Joseph(Karyn), Janette (Mike), grandchildren Jack (Kelly), Dawn (Richard), Skyler (Mikila), Cody (Chandra), Darlean(Jason), Cierra, Lennox/Tristyn, Nicholas.

His great-grandchildren Mariah, Kylie, Kira, Daniel, Hunter, Mathew, Maisyn, Draedon, and countless friends who were lucky enough to know him.

Ron was born in Toronto and spent his young years training as a mechanic at his father's garage.

Restless and looking for adventure, Ron joined the Navy when he was a teenager, and it was while on shore leave at a friend's house that he caught the eye of his future wife of 60 years, and they were married not long after.  Ron and Marie eventually settled in 撸奶社区to raise their family.

Ron was a construction labourer, retiring from FMC, having worked for many companies and been part of the building of much of the infrastructure that makes up the Sea to Sky Corridor today.

Ron was a big personality, and those who knew him remember fondly the many "Ronisms" that rolled off his sharp tongue; his endless tails of "antics" from his Navy days, "catching mud turtles as a boy and selling them to people as the fancy ones from the pet store,"  or " how he lost a bet and had to name all his children starting with the letter J".

Ron was an avid hunter, a passion he shared with his wife, boys and grandsons.

He loved a good crossword, and he could play crib like a champ.

It was on countless family fishing trips, escapes to warmer climates in the motorhome, and Christmas' in Cabo, that the crib challenge was on.

It was truly a milestone in the family when you could finally beat Ron.

In retirement, when not travelling, Ron began woodworking with cedar.

His trademark cedar tree brand can be seen on his projects near and far.

Even when he couldn't work out in his woodshop any longer, he continued to work with his hands, making little Gnome arch creations in his indoor shop.

In lieu of a traditional memorial service, which was not Ron's style,  Celebration of Life details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Ronald McDonald House, a particular favourite of Ron's.
