Several years into his budding entrepreneurial career, Ian Coll ran into a brick wall.

“I was so overwhelmed with work,” he said. “To the point where I burned out extremely hard.”

Coll was stuck, not knowing how to move forward or get back on track. Then, something inside him clicked.

“I realized there has to be another way of operating as a business owner. There has to be a different way of doing things,” he explained. “I thought, well, what is something that I could have used when I was in that stage?”

“That’s where Nurtr Wellness was born.”

Coll launched the business last month, roughly a year after his own burnout, as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with experts in personal development, health, well-being, and business coaching.

Coll said there are already eight classes uploaded to the website — in topics such as breathwork, website optimization and communication — with many more to come.

“In my experience, there wasn't really a platform that offers all three in the same focus, targeted towards entrepreneurs,” he said about choosing those particular pillars for Nurtr Wellness.

Equally important to Coll is providing as space where he hopes entrepreneurs can talk with other entrepreneurs.

“I really want to connect people and bring them into this hub,” he said.

Coll, who moved to the community three years ago, acknowledged that 撸奶社区is a great launchpad for this kind of entrepreneurial community given how many small business owners there already are here. He also knows the business community here has a lot to offer.

“I want people to feel like they can approach Nurtr and want to be a part of it,” he explained, adding that so long as you have expertise in a certain field or with a certain skill, Nurtr would welcome a partnership.

Squamish-based , for example, has already teamed up with Coll to bring knowledge in her area of expertise: traditional Chinese medicine.

“People don't have to be celebrities … If you're an expert and nobody knows who you are, that's okay with us,” he continued.

Coll wanted the service to be affordable as well, capping the monthly fee at $45.

“That's one less stress than an entrepreneur needs,” he said.

Although Nurtr only recently launched, Coll has already felt like he’s been reaching people, giving the example of someone who checked out a recent class on gut health.

“The next thing you know, she's making a smoothie and posted a story to Instagram saying, ‘Learning about my gut health thanks to Nurtr Wellness,’” Coll said. “I think I fist-pumped as I was walking through the parking lot; I was just completely fired up.”

It reminded Coll of why he wanted to start the hub in the first place.

“Somebody's getting value from these classes,” he said. “And that's honestly all I want.”
