When the 撸奶社区Historical Society meets on Thursday (Oct. 14) at 7 p.m. at the new location, the 撸奶社区Arts Council building on Cleveland Avenue, the guest speaker will be Kirstin Clausen, the executive director of the Britannia Mine Museum. She will be sharing with members the wonderful and exciting things that are going on at the mine.
The annual Hilltop House Harvest tea will be held on Saturday (Oct. 16) from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The afternoon also includes a bake sale and a raffle with five great prizes to be won. Donations of baked goods for the sale are much appreciated and can be taken to Hilltop on Saturday morning or by 1 p.m. This annual event is sponsored by the Hilltop House Support Society and volunteers are always welcome to help out.
The Adult Afternoon Book Club at the 撸奶社区Public Library will meet on Tuesday (Oct. 12) from noon to 1 p.m. to discuss the book The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai. If you have read this book, you are invited to join the discussion. Please note, the library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Monday (Oct. 11).

The 撸奶社区Environment Society is sponsoring its last in a series of estuary walks on Monday (Oct. 11) from 10 a.m. to noon. Dress for the weather and meet at Third Avenue and the Estuary dike (one block south of Vancouver Street before the bridge to the 撸奶社区Terminals). The 撸奶社区Estuary Exploration volunteer interpreters will be there to welcome you.
The Women's Auxilliary to the 撸奶社区General Hospital will be selling raffle tickets today and Saturday (Oct. 9) at Wal Mart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for their annual Christmas Bazaar in November. Your support is much appreciated.

The Seniors Health and Wellness Fair with free immunizations for those 65 years and older will be held in the 撸奶社区Seniors Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please note the date change and on that day, all regular classes will be cancelled.
The cafeteria at the Seniors Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. an is open to all ages. New to the menu is all say breakfast and there is also delicious soup and sandwiches and desserts available.
The 撸奶社区Historical Society is sponsoring a fundraiser at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #277 on Friday (Oct. 15) at 6 p.m. in the form of meat draws throughout the evening. All proceeds will go to the restoration of the Wilkie building at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park.
