Rarely seen historic photos on hydroelectricity part of Britannia talks

The folks at the Britannia Mine Museum are marking B.C. Heritage Week (Feb. 20 to 26) with a series presentations on the history of hydroelectric power in Britannia Beach.

Hydroelectric power has been part of the life in the community for more than 100 years. the presentations, taking place daily through Sunday (Feb. 24), will include a collection of rarely seen photos dating back to the community's early days.

Presentations, exploring the importance of hydroelectric power in Britannia and B.C., are planned at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day. Admission is free for museum members or with regular museum admission for others.
