The organizers of an upcoming fundraising golf tournament are inviting the community to sign up for a weekend that promises to provide fairways of fun and a helping hand for .
The 撸奶社区Hospital Foundation's (SHF) 15th annual charity tournament, which takes place on Sept. 16 at 撸奶社区Valley Golf and Country Club, was hailed as a huge success in its return in 2012, having raised $26,000 for enhancements to the Sea to Sky orthopedic surgery program.
Profits from this year's tournament will help fund an assortment of items needed at 撸奶社区General Hospital and Hilltop House, organizers said.
After a few years' hiatus, SHF brought the tourney back last year with a new name - the Dr. LaVerne Kindree Memorial Tournament - in honour of the organization's founder and community pioneer. Through the years the SHF has raised more than $1.5 million to improve health care in 撸奶社区and throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Businesses and individuals are invited to become player and/or non-player sponsors, to donate to the fundraising auction or to register as individual players. Those who sign up to play will receive 18 holes of golf, a "first-tee" gift, lunch and dinner, awards, complimentary range balls and a chance to win draw prizes and take part in games of chance and a team putting contest.
