Hikers begin their journey to the Smoke Bluffs at the annual Hike For Hospice event on Sunday (May 4). The event raised $25,000 for hospice care in 撸奶社区and saw 200 hikers hit the trails.

Despite drizzly conditions for most of the day, a total of 200 people hiked for hospice on Sunday (May 4).

The seventh annual Hike for Hospice event saw the Rotary Club of 撸奶社区team up with the 撸奶社区Hospice Society and it helped raise a total of $25,000 towards programs that deal with palliative care in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

The event featured appearances and speeches from 撸奶社区Mayor Rob Kirkham and West Vancouver-Sea to Sky MLA Jordan Sturdy. It also honoured the hard work of local volunteers as they continue to fight for more local care.

Participants had the option of hiking on a more gentle trail to the community garden or a more challenging route to the top of the Smoke Bluffs. The hike started at the Brennan Park overflow field and all hikers met up at the field for more family fun following the completion of the hike.
