An evening of masked dinner and dancing is planned for the second annual Firefighter鈥檚 Ball, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park鈥檚 CN Roundhouse.
鈥淔or this second year of the Firefighter鈥檚 Ball we wanted to make it bigger and better,鈥� said Estelle Taylor, coordinator and fundraising manager for Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS). 鈥淪o, we decided that this year it would be a masquerade ball鈥� not a costume party, which is completely different.鈥�
The annual event is organized by the 撸奶社区FIrefighter鈥檚 Association, with some of the proceeds going to SSCS and the new Centrepoint building, an $8 million downtown community services hub.
鈥淵ou can bring your own mask, or there will be masks for you to buy at the event,鈥� said Taylor. 鈥淭he Roundhouse will be beautifully decorated, there will be great food, great music and lots of fun for a good cause.鈥�
The evening鈥檚 entertainment comes courtesy of Vancouver dance band, Faith and Desire.
鈥淭hey鈥檙e a cover band with a huge song list,鈥� said Taylor. 鈥淭hey are a really great band and will keep people on the dance floor.鈥�
Tickets for the event run $100 per person, and are available online at sscs.ca, at the SSCS offices or through any local firefighter.
鈥淚t should be a great time,鈥� said Taylor.
