The 15th annual Brackendale Fall Fair takes place tomorrow (Sept. 12) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a great place to meet and greet old friends and neighbours while browsing through the exhibitors' tent or checking out the many vendors and their wares. Kids have fun getting their faces painted, going on a hayride, checking out the animals or participating in the zucchini races. Take in all the musical entertainment that is lined up starting at the noon hour. Tucking into a delicious beef burger or hot dog is a must when at the Fair!
The Women's Auxiliary to the 撸奶社区General Hospital will have a booth at the Fall Fair tomorrow (Sept. 12) and they will be selling raffle tickets for their Christmas Bazaar. Do drop by the gift shop at the hospital any day Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as the Auxiliary always has a display of neat items for gift-giving.
Community Registration Day is Sunday (Sept. 13) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when community groups and sports organizations are offered a one-stop information and registration day at the Brennan Park Recreation Centre. Also, an outdoor gear and equipment swap is being held at the same time at the centre.
The 撸奶社区Public Library invites the community to attend a free public lecture on Thursday (Sept. 17) at 7 p.m. given by Dr. David Helfand, President of Quest University, Canada and Chair of the Astronomy Department, Columbia University, New York. Dr. Helfand's lecture is entitled "Our Place in Space and Time: A Grand Tour of the Cosmos."
The 撸奶社区Food Bank will distribute grocery hampers on Wednesday (Sept. 16) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alano Club on Third Avenue. Donations of fresh fruit and vegetables for the hampers are much appreciated. Please deliver at this location by 9 a.m.

The Sea to Sky Singers are back to weekly rehearsals again in preparation for their Christmas Concert in Dec. The Healthy Brain Program, an innovative approach to the care of the brain was held each month until June. The 撸奶社区Public Library is pleased to announce two alternate language storytimes starting this Fall. The library is offering a French storytime on Tuesdays from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and a Japanese storytime on Saturdays from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. and there is no registration required to participate. They begin the week of Sept. 14 and follow the regular storytime schedule.
