As the prestigious Michelin Guide gears up to release its sophomore list of starred and recommended Vancouver restaurants this fall, its inspectors and publishers have flagged nearly a dozen additional spots deemed worthy of checking out.
On Thursday (July 13), the Michelin Guide released a selection of to their listings (not new in the sense of just-opened, though about half of them do qualify as such).
These 10 standout Vancouver restaurants are highlighted as “New” on Michelin Guide's website "to help food lovers enjoy new discoveries before the annual announcement of Bib Gourmands and Stars," according to a media rep for the publication.
The picks range from established restaurants like Bao Bei and Farmer's Apprentice that continue to deliver high-quality and innovative meals recommended alongside (contemporary) and (modern Hawaiian).
You'll find three sushi spots on the list (no surprise given with this particular branch of Japanese food): The and , and Sushi Jin.
The list also features Folke, an upscale v. And they also suggest a visit to East Van's unassuming , for beautiful bowls of the Japanese noodle dish and for "wonderfully delicious traditional dishes interspersed with bold, innovative plates."
