This limited edition keychain Compass card celebrates Vancouver's trolley bus history

Looking to up your Compass card tapping game and pay tribute to a Vancouver public transit milestone at the same time?

To mark the 75th anniversary of the trolley bus in Vancouver, TransLink is releasing a limited edition Mini-Trolley Compass keychain.

The keychain works just like a Compass card, so you can tap it at fare gates at SkyTrain stations and when you board a TransLink bus. As a fun bonus, when you tap your little bus, the headlights light up!

The transit agency is only releasing 5,000 of the special novelty Compass keychains - 4,000 will be blue "adult" fare ones and 1,000 orange Concession fare ones. 

The Mini-Trolley Compass keychains will be available at the TransLink Customer Service Centre at Waterfront Station, beginning at 8 a.m. on August 16, and are only available while supplies last, with a two-per-customer maximum. 

Just like you would a regular Compass card, you can load the Mini-Trolley Compass keychain with passes or stored value.

On Aug. 16, TransLink will mark the 75th anniversary of Vancouver's historic trolley bus fleet by teaming up with the Transit Museum Society to on two of its restored Brill trolley buses. One is from 1947 and the other from 1954. Rides will be available first-come, first-served from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. departing from outside Waterfront Station.
