Google Trends says people in the U.S. are searching how to immigrate to Canada.

Donald Trump is set to become the president of the United States again, prompting many to inquire about moving to Canada.

People using Google in the United States are searching "how to immigrate to Canada" the day after the U.S. presidential election. 

Searches for "how to immigrate to Canada" have been rising in the last 24 hours. 

Donald Trump was elected the 47th president of the United States on Wednesday with 295 electoral votes to Kamala Harris’ 226.

The search on "how to immigrate to Canada" is a 'breakout' on Google Trends, which means a search term that has grown by more than 5,000 per cent. 

Related searching included "expatriate," "relocation" and "how to become a Canadian citizen." 

Searches about immigrating to Canada were highest in Vermont, Maine, Washington, New Hampshire and Minnesota. 

Harris won in all of the locations where the Google search trend is rising.
