On Tuesday, Nov. 23, health officials  against COVID-19 next week.

More than 90,000 children have been registered and invites will be prioritized based on the order they signed up through .

But needles can scare children — particularly young ones.

To help parents out, the B.C. government offers an adorable comic entitled COVID-19 vaccine superhero: Jesse's story. The comic features a nervous brown bear cub named Jesse who is heading to a vaccine clinic with his mom. He asks why he needs a vaccine, and the comic explains how the vaccine works as an "invisible force shield" to protect you from the virus.

Besides keeping you safe, getting vaccinated also helps other people be safe. In the comic, other people are actually other adorable animals including a fox, a raccoon, a bird, and other bears.

Jesse brings his favourite toy to help him stay brave through the endeavour and is hailed a "superhero" following the appointment.
