The B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives said the nurse engaged in sexual misconduct with a patient between December 2019 and April 2020.

A former nurse in Port Alberni has been stripped of his nursing license for five years after engaging in sexual misconduct with a vulnerable psychiatric patient.

A consent agreement was approved Friday between Aaron Forrester and the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives after an inquiry by the college.

The college said Forrester engaged in sexual misconduct with the patient between December 2019 and April 2020.

The discipline notice said the patient was repeatedly re-admitted to hospital on a voluntary and involuntary basis.

Forrester has agreed not to reapply for his licence for five years.

If he does reapply in future, he will be required to satisfy the college that he meets the requirements of fitness, competence and good character, the college said.
