Following a series of coyote attacks on park goers, the BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) announced this morning that four coyotes have been captured and killed.
The news comes after the a day after . One of the coyotes was captured in very close proximity to the site of the most recent attack the BCCOS said in a recent statement.
"Public safety for visitors to Stanley Park is our top priority," the statement reads. "Conservation Officers will continue to monitor Stanley Park as further actions are assessed."
The coyotes will be taken to the Abbotsford Animal Health Lab for analysis. Efforts are continuing with park rangers, area organizations, the municipality and wildlife biologists to further address and reduce coyote conflicts the statement continued.
Since the start of 2021, the BC Conservation Officer Service has received reports of at least 11 people injured by coyotes in Stanley Park.
