TRURO, N.S. — Police in Nova Scotia have charged a man with abduction following a June 7 Amber Alert in southern Quebec.
Jessie Wayne MacPhee, 31, is expected to appear in a provincial court in Truro, N.S., on June 12.
Police say they issued the Amber Alert after a gas station clerk in St-Louis-de-Blandford, Que., raised concern about a man who was travelling with an infant and unable to pay for gas.
They say the clerk took photos of the one-year-old girl and the man's vehicle, which had a Nova Scotia licence plate.
Quebec provincial police then contacted the Colchester County District RCMP in Nova Scotia, who determined the child had been abducted.
The Amber Alert ended after police located the man and the infant, who was later reunited with her family.
