HALIFAX — Hockey Nova Scotia has a new executive director.

Mike Field has been appointed to the position after serving as interim director since December, replacing Amy Walsh.

A native of Truro, N.S., Field has more than two decades of experience in hockey governance in the province and has also held the interim executive director position in 2004 and 2018.

In a news release, Field says he looks forward to finding new ways to make hockey more accessible and fun for all participants.

Arnie Farrell, president of Hockey Nova Scotia, says Field is an experienced hockey leader who has gained the trust and confidence of the board of directors and the organization’s membership.

A former member of the Acadia Axemen university men’s hockey team, Field joined Hockey Nova Scotia as member services coordinator in January 2002 and was later promoted to member services manager in 2008.
