Stanislav Svozil and Braxton Whitehead also scored for the Pats (26-24-2-1), while Connor Bedard added two assists to increase his league-leading point total to 105 (51 goals, 54 assists) in 42 games played.

Jett Jones and Brayden Edwards scored for the Hurricanes (30-19-3-3), who were outshot 34-30 at the Brandt Centre.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Zac Funk's goal in the seventh round of a shootout ended a battle of goaltenders as the Prince George Cougars edged the visiting Portland Winterhawks 1-0.

After 65 minutes of scoreless hockey, the Cougars (25-23-4-0) got goals from Ondrej Becher and Funk to win the shootout segment 2-1. Luca Cagnoni scored for the Winterhawks (36-13-2-3).

Netminder Tyler Brennan of the Cougars made 31 saves for the win, while Dante Giannuzzi of the Winterhawks stopped 30 shots.
