Edmonton police investigate infant's death as a homicide

EDMONTON — Police in Edmonton say they are investigating the death of a five-month-old girl as a homicide. They say the infant was admitted to the Stollery Hospital with life-threatening injuries on March 7.

EDMONTON — Police in Edmonton say they are investigating the death of a five-month-old girl as a homicide. 

They say the infant was admitted to the Stollery Hospital with life-threatening injuries on March 7. 

The police service's child protection section began to investigate the next day.  

The infant was pronounced dead on March 11. 

The medical examiner has determined the death was caused by blunt-force trauma.  

Police provided no details on any suspects.
